Stridle support

For help with Stridle, write to support@pocketstarlabs.com. If you use the email link in the app, it adds your Stridle and iOS version numbers to help with bug reports. We use this only to reply to you, and we delete it when it's no longer needed for that.

How do guesses unlock?

Every 1,000 steps you take earns you one guess. Out of guesses? Head out for a walk and come back with more. There's no six-guess limit: the more you walk, the more chances you get.

When do steps reset?

Your steps and the word reset at midnight.

How do I give Stridle access to Health?

With your permission, Stridle reads your step count from Apple Health. Stridle asks only for permission to read step count. Allow it in the Health app under Sharing → Apps → Stridle, or in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health. You can turn off Stridle's access at any time there.

What syncs with iCloud?

Your games sync across your devices with iCloud. Stridle saves your guesses, results, streaks, step totals for each day you play, and your settings. This is stored on your iPhone, in a space it shares with the Stridle widgets so they can show your progress.

If iCloud is turned on, Stridle also keeps a copy of your game history (your guesses and results) in your own iCloud account, so it follows you to a new iPhone. Step counts are left out of that copy: they're never stored in iCloud and stay only on the iPhone that counted them.

How do I delete Stridle data?

To delete everything Stridle stores on your device, delete the app. To remove the iCloud copy, go to iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage and delete Stridle's data, or turn off iCloud for Stridle.

Under the GDPR and other privacy laws, you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. In practice, the only personal data we may hold is email you've sent us. Write to support@pocketstarlabs.com and we'll take care of it.
